Elena Walch, Trentino - Alto Adige
An intriguing but ultimately satisfying equal three part blend of… in fact wait - if anyone can identify the grapes I will give them 15% off their next order. Suffice to say the combination works well, with body and depth but freshness of fruit and elegance too. Possibly more of a red drinker's rosé?
The Elena Walch estate
One of the torch-bearing wine producers in Alto-Adige, Elena Walch collected tre bicchieri awards for both red and white wines in 2007, and her Gewurztraminer, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay continue to set high standards for the region. The Estate also has a wonderful restaurant in the heart of its Castel Ringberg vineyard, which is as good a place as any to taste the wines alongside local delicacies.
